GeorgiaFirst.Org: Not Atlanta... Not Washington... But GEORGIA FIRST!

Georgia First On The Issues

Immigration: "We are opposed to any amnesty program for illegal immigrants and vigorously support the arrest and deportation of those within our state borders, along with proposing harsher criminal penalties for those who aid and abet known illegals. The anti-immigration laws passed recently in Georgia are little more than rubber stamps for the amnesty policy of the Bush administration." (more)

Eminent Domain: "We support a state constitutional amendment which contains very strict language limiting the scope of the use of eminent domain to only the most traditional uses, such as infrastructure construction but not practices of social activism nor land redistribution. The recent state constitutional amendment that was put to the voters of Georgia through referendum intentionally left a loophole which allows the General Assembly to re-define the term 'public use,' which is the same problem that created this issue in the first place. It is merely one more example of the neo-cons in power pretending to address very real problems, while actually doing nothing to eliminate it altogether." (more)

Georgia State Flag: "We support fulfilling the original promise made by Sonny Perdue to the people of Georgia during the 2002 elections to give them a 'fair flag vote' referendum, which would include the 1956 Georgia flag as an option... and to work toward seeing that the results of that referendum are implemented." (more)

Second Amendment: "We oppose any effort to infringe upon the right of law-abiding people of Georgia to keep and bear arms and encourage public awareness of the principle that the best guarantee of liberty is a well-armed populace of good citizens." ( more)

Abortion: "We believe that all children, including the unborn, have a right to life and that the state of Georgia has the responsibility to protect that right. We support amending Georgia law so that it more clearly recognizes these basic rights of the unborn, beginning from the moment of conception as a life." (more)

Ten Commandments: "We believe that the Ten Commandments are the moral, legal, and cultural foundations of our Georgia republic and that their public display is a States' Rights issue that does not lie within the constitutional jurisdiction of the federal government. We believe that the governor has a responsibility to interpose his office anytime that a federal court seeks to compel a Georgia community to appear before it on the matter and that he should ask the General Assembly to consider a resolution of nullification in support." (more)

Citizen Initiatives: "We support the right of the People of Georgia to protect their 'valuable way of life' through the process of voter initiatives which guarantees the People a remedy against the very real threat of betrayal of their values by elected and appointed officials serving special interests." (more)
