Ray McBerry Enters Georgia Governor's Race

Ray McBerry has officially filed to run as a Republican candidate for Governor again in 2010. After garnering nearly 50,000 votes in the Republican primary of 2006 against a strongly-entrenched incumbent... and with only 90 days to campaign... it was obvious that the strong States' Rights message of Ray's "Georgia First" campaign was a resounding success with Georgia voters who heard it. Only time and short-term funding prevented a much larger audience from hearing the message before election day in July of 2006.
The platform of Ray's "Georgia First" campaign has wide appeal among Georgians in general and Republicans, Libertarians, and rural Democrats in particular. Very clear statements on issues such as the Second Amendment, Taxes, Privacy, Pro-Life, and Federal Encroachments separate Ray from most "establishment" politicians; and he is the only gubernatorial candidate to emphatically state that he is willing to defy the federal government if it continues its encroachments upon the rights and liberties of Georgians. With such radical issues looming on the horizon as the Real ID Act, further restrictions on the Second Amendment, and threats of martial law emanating from Washington, D.C., all Georgians should be looking for a governor who will stand for their interests, even in the face of federal bureaucrats.
